Charles N. Hayslett
Charlie Hayslett is an award-winning journalist, speechwriter and public relations counselor. He is the founder and CEO of Hayslett Group LLC, an Atlanta-based communications firm established in 1994. Since opening for business more than 20 years ago, Hayslett and his firm have provided a broad range of award-winning public relations services to more than a hundred clients, including BellSouth Corporation, The Coca-Cola Company, Delta Air Lines, Georgia-Pacific, numerous hospitals throughout the state, several trade associations, and various agencies of state government.
Before co-founding Hayslett Group in 1994, his communications management experience included tours of duty with Cohn & Wolfe, Citizens and Southern Corp. (now Bank of America), BellSouth Corporation (now AT&T), and Fleishman-Hillard. Prior to entering public relations, Charlie worked for more than a decade as a newspaper journalist, covering government and politics for The Atlanta Journal in Atlanta and Washington, D.C. His newspaper and public relations career spans more than 40 years.
In recent years especially, Charlie’s personal practice has generally revolved around issues management, crisis communication, and public policy communication.
He holds an ABJ from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. He is a member of the Grady College’s Board of Trust and in 2008 was named to the inaugural class of The Grady Fellowship. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Georgians for a Healthy Future.
Since founding Hayslett Group, Charlie has developed and managed public relations campaigns that have helped launch and sell companies, win referenda, pass and block legislation, secure controversial state licenses, and win millions of dollars in state appropriations.
